In a step that reflects the priority of health within the social protection system, Dr. Maya Morsi visited the “Minister of Solidarity”Social Affairs” Ahl Masr Hospital for the treatment of burns, in the presence of Dr. Heba Al-Suwaidi and the artist Magda Al-Roumi.
The visit included a field tour inside the emergency, intensive care and inpatient departments, checking on cases, especially children, who represent a significant percentage of those with burns. There, the Minister praised the hospital’s success in applying natural skin transplantation technology, which contributed to raising recovery rates and reducing complications, in a model that embodies the partnership between civil society and the state to achieve the third goal of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) related to good health and well-being.

Heritage Crafts Festival
With regard to economic empowerment, the Minister held a coordination meeting with the Minister of Local Development and Environment in the presence of the President’s Advisor for Development.local; In order to discuss organizing an international festival for traditional crafts in Egypt; In implementation of presidential directives.
This step comes as a continuation of the Ministry’s efforts to support craftsmen through “Diyarna” exhibitions, and to expand in opening foreign markets. In order to enhance the creative economy and provide job opportunities for women and youth, especially in the governorates of Upper Egypt.

Protecting children digitally

Within the framework of strengthening the humanitarian response, the Minister – Dr. Maya Morsi – witnessed the lining up of rapid intervention teams and the Egyptian Red Crescent, supported by mobile units and specialized crews working around the clock to deal with cases of homeless children and adults.
This move represents a practical development of the first line of defense for the most vulnerable groups, through a system of notifications and immediate response, in a way that strengthens the concept of the sponsoring state, and translates the first goal ofSustainable development related to the eradication of all forms and manifestations of poverty.

At the regional and international level, Dr. Maya Morsi received Mrs. Kate Forbes, “President of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies,” in the presence of Dr. Amal Emam, “Executive Director of the Egyptian Red Crescent,” where the meeting revolved around the ongoing humanitarian efforts since the outbreak of the crisis in the Gaza Strip.
During the meeting, it was confirmed that the Egyptian Red Crescent provides an integrated package of relief services to our Palestinian brothers, including psychological support for children, restoring family ties, distributing hot meals, heavy clothes, and personal care supplies, in addition to a “return bag” for those returning to the Gaza Strip.
