Egyptian industry competes globally
The Board of Directors of the Egyptian General Organization for Standardization and Quality (EOS) has approved the adoption of252a new standard, in a step to support the Egyptian industry and enhance its competitiveness, within a strategy to improve the quality of local products, and open broad horizons for Egyptian exports in global markets.
This step would contribute to efforts to enhance the Egyptian export map, ensuring an increase in its share in international markets, and giving it the ability to access global supply chains, especially in light of the increasing global demand for products that conform to quality specifications.
Standard specifications that support industrial development
These specifications were approved during the 334th meeting of the Authority’s Board of Directors, which witnessed a prominent presence of representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Chambers of Industry, in a scene that reflects the keenness of all parties to joint coordination to serve the industrial sector.
There, Dr. Khaled Sofi, “President of the Egyptian General Authority for Standardization and Quality,” confirmed that the ultimate goal behind this step is to support the Egyptian industry and enable it to expand in export markets, stressing that the standard specifications represent the industry’s shield and a basic pillar for improving the quality of the Egyptian product.
The head of the Egyptian General Authority for Standardization and Quality added that these specifications were comprehensive and diverse, as they covered several sectors, and combined new aspects with the necessary amendments to existing specifications, while adopting the latest international systems and standards, while preserving the health and safety of the Egyptian consumer remained a top priority in the approval process.

Various sectors covered by the new specifications
The package of approved standard specifications included (252 specifications) in vital industrial fields, including:
- Chemical industries
- Textile
- Food industries
- Engineering Industries
- Measures and Weights
This diversity reflects the authority’s keenness to develop Egyptian industry standards in a balanced manner, keeping pace with global changes in more than one production sector. To enhance the competition of Egyptian products in international markets.
Spreading a culture of quality and adherence to standards
The Chairman of the Authority – Dr. Khaled Sufi – also called on all manufacturers and producers to adopt these specifications and apply them effectively, stressing that the Authority’s role is to issue standards, spreadthe culture of quality, and dedicate commitment to them; This has a direct impact on the reputation of the Egyptian product in foreign markets, and increases local consumer confidence.
The adoption of 252 new standards represents a qualitative step on the path tomodernizing Egyptian industry, and strengthening its position in global markets, but it constitutes – at the same time – a real test of the ability of industrial institutions to apply these standards seriously and effectively.
This is because standard specifications are not only official credentials, but rather practical tools to improve production, protect consumers, and open sustainable export horizons. This makes Egypt able to align its national standards with the global economy, and ensure that its products are part of international supply chains.
Hence,The Earth Guards Foundationconfirms that investing in quality is an investment in the future, and that adherence to standard specifications is the clearest path towards more equitable and sustainable industrial development, in a way that achieves a sustainable life for current and future generations.
