Early childhood educationEarly childhoodis no longer a theoretical framework; It has become a governing compass for rebuilding societies on more just and sustainable foundations. In this path, the issues of investing in people, social protection, and empowering the most needy groups advance, as they are a main entry point to achieving comprehensive growth and reducing social gaps.

From this standpoint, the moves of Dr. Maya Morsi, “Minister of Social Solidarity,” reflect a conscious transition from managing need to building capacity, through an integrated system extending from early childhood education to caring for the elderly, and based on international and community partnerships that support the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in their social and humanitarian dimension.

Therefore, it will addressThe Earth Guards Foundation In this article, I highlight the efforts of the Ministry of Social Solidarity, led by Dr. Maya Morsi, in translating Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into realistic policies and programs that affect the lives of citizens, by expanding the umbrella of social protection, supporting the field of early childhood education, and strengthening international partnerships; So keep reading.

The meeting witnessed a review of the results of the Egyptian-Japanese cooperation in the National Early Childhood Project, which is considered a successful model for exchanging experiences and transferring pioneering international experiences, as Egypt benefits from the Japanese model in early education, the play-based learning approach and the development of children’s life skills.

The two parties also stressed the importance of the project to improve the quality of early childhood, which represents one of the basic axes for developing the nursery system, especially in light of the implementation of the first comprehensive national inventory of nurseries in 2025, which revealed the presence of more than 48 thousand nurseries with more than 1.7 million children, which constitutes a pivotal database to guide future interventions in a more efficient and targeted manner.

For their part, members of the Japanese delegation expressed their appreciation for the Egyptian experience in adopting the Japanese model in early childhood, and expressed their readiness to deepen cooperation with Egypt during the next stage on a number of files of great importance.

Cooperation between the Red Crescent and Ain Shams University

In the context of supporting partnerships between academic institutions and humanitarian work, Dr. Maya Morsi, “Minister of Social Solidarity and Vice President of the Egyptian Red Crescent,” witnessed the signing of a cooperation protocol between the Egyptian Red Crescent and Ain Shams University, in addition to the opening of the volunteer center and community observatory at the university.

The protocol aims to enhance integration between academic knowledge and field application, thus contributing to spreading the culture of organized volunteer work among university students, and preparing youth cadres capable of effectively contributing to community service and responding to crises.

Regarding that cooperation, the Minister confirmed that this partnership represents a practical model for integrating roles between the state, civil society and educational institutions, in a way that supports sustainable development efforts and enhances youth participation in building a more cohesive society and the ability to face challenges.

Family Care Support

With regard to the field of family care support, the Supreme Committee for Alternative Sponsored Families held its periodic meeting at the headquarters of the Ministry of Social Solidarity. In order to follow up on sponsorship files and develop the alternative care system. The meeting confirmed that 613 boys and girls had been handed over to foster families from July 2024 to date, bringing the total number of children in foster care within alternative families to 12,275 children, with a total of 12,016 foster families nationwide.

Arab Day for Seniors

Then Dr. Maya Morsi, “Minister of Social Solidarity,” witnessed the celebration of the Arab Day for the Elderly, where a number of pioneers were honored in appreciation for their efforts, before the Minister inspected the Productive Families Exhibition, which includes products made by elderly individuals, stressing that caring for the elderly is a social duty and a human and moral value, and is a basic pillar in building a balanced society that respects its past, preserves its present, and secures His future.

In light of this integrated scene, it becomes clear that early childhood education is a fulcrum for reshaping the entire path of social development. The approach adopted by the Ministry of Social Solidarity reflects a structural shift from limited intervention policies to building sustainable systems that invest in people throughout their life cycle, starting from the early years, through empowering youth, all the way to caring for the elderly and protecting children without family care.

Therefore, what the early childhood education system is witnessing – along with the files of family care and youth empowerment – reflects a broader vision of managing sustainable development as a long-term, cumulative process; Therefore,The Earth Guards Foundation appreciates these national efforts, where humans are at the heart of the sustainability equation, not on its margins.
