Supporting early childhood and enhancing the role of the family

At the forefront of these efforts is the Ministry of Social Solidarity’s conclusion of the activities of the pilot phase of the project to increase children’s enrollment in nurseries in Beni Suef Governorate, through an expanded celebration titled “Family Day,” which reflected the Ministry’s orientation towards investing in early childhood as a fundamental pillar of sustainable development.

The event witnessed the participation of executive leaders and development partners from civil society, and included a comprehensive development convoy that provided a package of social protection and economic empowerment services, in addition to a medical convoy that targeted hundreds of children, and recreational and awareness-raising activities that reinforced the concept of positive education and integration between family and nursery.

This event was the culmination of qualitative interventions that included developing the infrastructure of a number of private nurseries, building the capabilities of service providers through specialized training programs, as well as supporting thousands of families with food and awareness, which contributes to raising the rates of children’s enrollment in nurseries at an early age.

Integrating people with disabilities into social policies

Within the framework of consolidating the principles of social justice and equal opportunities, the Ministry of Social Solidarity participated in Al-Azhar’s celebration of persons with disabilities, in a message that reflects the depth of the partnership between social, educational and religious institutions to support integration issues.
There, the Ministry confirmed that the file of the rights of persons with disabilities represents a central priority in its policies, supported by a clear legislative framework and executive programs that have witnessed significant development over the past two years, including the expansion of cash support programs, the issuance of integrated service cards, the development of the rehabilitation system, support for inclusive education, and improving the availability of public facilities and services.

Supporting the Sudanese people

At the regional level, Dr. Maya Morsi launched the “Minister of Social Solidarity” in her capacity as Vice President of the Egyptian Red Crescent; A ground humanitarian aid convoy to support the brotherly Sudanese people, in a step that reflects the continued Egyptian humanitarian role towards regional crises.
The convoy included tens of tons of food and medical aid and shelter supplies, prepared according to priorities coordinated with the Sudanese Red Crescent, as part of an extended humanitarian response since the outbreak of the crisis.
