Dr. Maya Morsi, Minister of Social Solidarity, witnessed the launch of the “Sikkat Rizq” initiative, which aims to support graduates of social care homes and qualify them for effective integration into the Egyptian labor market. The initiative provides beneficiaries with motorcycles and scooters for use in delivery and logistics activities, giving them a stable job opportunity and a sustainable source of income.

The “Rizq Railway” is based on three main axes, which are:

  • Providing the work tool by delivering the means of transportation.
  • Professional integration by providing actual work opportunities via digital platforms.
  • Financial inclusion by opening bank accounts and providing awareness sessions for managing financial resources.

In this celebration, the Minister of Social Solidarity confirmed that empowering care home graduates represents a strategic priority, noting that the transition from the care system to a self-reliance system is the true guarantor of sustainable community integration.

The “Doors of Goodness” initiative in Ramadan

In the presence of Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, the Long Live Egypt Fund – in cooperation with the Ministry of Social Solidarity – launched the “Doors of Charity” initiative; In order to provide food support to vulnerable families during the holy month of Ramadan, in all governorates of the Republic.

The initiative includes:

  • Providing 4 million hot meals through the Fund’s kitchens and “Al-Mahrousa Kitchens”.
  • Distribution of 3 million food cartons through convoys covering the Republic.
  • Participation of a number of partners, including the Egyptian Red Crescent, which distributes tens of thousands of cartons through its branches in the governorates.

The initiative also includes supporting various categories of supportive services workers, including female breadwinners and residents of alternative housing projects, as well as the continuation of the “Ramadan Humanitarian Kitchen” to provide meals to brothers in the Gaza Strip, which reflects Egypt’s regional role in humanitarian work.

Concerning this, Dr. Maya Morsi explained that the efforts of the Ministry of Social Solidarity in the Holy Month aim to provide more than 70 million hot meals through multiple initiatives, the most important of which is “Doors of Charity,” which achieves the image of solidarity among members of society in a generous and fair manner.

Strengthening social protection for irregular workers

In a cultural and social dimension, Dr. Maya Morsi met with the delegation of the Aswan International Women’s Film Festival. To discuss the ongoing preparations for the tenth session of the Aswan International Women’s Film Festival, which bears the name of cinema pioneer Aziza Amir.

Regarding this international festival, Dr. Maya Morsi explained that the Ministry of Social Solidarity continues to provide its support for the “Films with Impact” competitions and the Popular Initiatives Award, in addition to involving youth from social solidarity units in universities in the festival’s activities, in a step that reflects the use of culture and arts to be a tool for enhancing awareness of women’s issues and civil society.
